A Rainy day

Hi friends,
It has been quite some time since I've visited here. Year end audits and finalization ....uh...  really hectic.

However my schedule is, there are few people who remind me about the blog and ask me to write something here. This post is for one such darling and this topic was also hers- “Rain”.
When she asked me to write about rain actually I did not know what to write about rain. People write poem with rain. But a blog post? I don’t know whether there is any.

I love rain.I believed that anyone who says sunshine is pure happiness , has never danced in the rain until recently when I got my New I Phone 5s completely drenched in rain and seriously was admitted in ICU(Apple care center) where they said-“anything can be said after keeping it in observation for 48 hours”- Viola! You understood why I termed it as an ICU.Finally it was dead. I feel little withdrawn by rain from that day where it was my foolishness which killed my I-Phone though ;-(

This post is random one.
It was a rainy day. I went to temple nearby home. As soon as I entered the temple it started raining cats and dogs. As soon as I heard the sound I broadly smiled. I was happily enjoying rain sitting in temple. It seemed as if the rain is not going to stop.  I was distraught because of long waiting hours in temple in evening time.

You know I have this bad habit of crying when I am helpless. On such time when the first drop of tear after fighting the battle within wanted to pour out of the eye. This handsome guy came all the way searching me as he knew I did not reach my home. We both were very happy on seeing each others. He said, “God! At last I found you.” I said “You Stupid! Why did it take so much time for you to come in search of me :-P”

He knew I had wheezing trouble .Getting drenched in rain would definitely mean getting admitted in hospital in the next 2 days. It is only heart which functions fast than brain when it comes to love. Proving this he came in search without an umbrella :-P. But he handled the situation adroitly. He asked me to come out of temple. He wanted to protect me from rain and so he asked me to get into the biggggg t-shirt which he was wearing. I did as he said. My head was inside his tee and not minding the rain and dreadful roads, he rode fast and dropped me home. I always love him for what he is to me. But that day his act was uncanny according to me. My love to that guy grew from that day and from then it has been growing till date.

Wondering as to who is that handsome guy who came for my rescue on that rainy day? It is none other than my brother  who is Thayumanavan. Today being his birthday i would love to dedicate this post to him.Happy Birthday Payan :-). You don’t even remember this incident, but i do  although it is 13 years old story.

His life is not perfect but he never misses to smile each day. His path is neither neat nor straight but he never fails to bring a curve in lips of people around him.

After all...
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It is about learning to dance in the rain.

Happy Rainy days guys !!

Thaayumanavan (Brother who is also a Mother)

Few hours before me he came to the earth
To briefly glance whether it was safe for my birth
From that day he dutifully plays his part
His love has always swept my heart

Though born in different wombs we are twins
Together we have seen many autumns and springs
Having a brother is owning a treasure
When he also happens to be friend
The joy has no measure

He has a stunning style and affable smile
For me his face is truly a lily of the Nile
He awes me with his altruistic nature
Which still I have to nurture

He has made me cry bringing tears like stream
He would beam when I crazily scream
Yet we share our dreams however extreme
If written today they would be in ream

He cares like a mother and wares for me like a father
Even when I trouble much and make him bother J
Now the distance has made him stay farther
Where I wish to be his soul rather

He makes parody which would amaze
For his dance I always go craze
People love his phrasing for its innocent glaze
And also for his smile which always blaze

Without him my childhood memories are nil
I remember the treasure hunt we played with thrill
Even my smallest wish he will fulfil
Much of my strengths are that he instilled

Not only in movies that a brother would cook
When sister is engrossed into her study book
Till date he has never forsook
Though at times I’ve been brook

His sacrifices for me are countless
At my success he would go speechless
His wonderful nature is he never gets jealous
He should reach great heights for the qualities he possess

More than a brother, he is a Friend
I wish to be with him till my end
Yes! We are twins born in different womb
And Together we always bloom

I wished My 50Th post should be about him:-)
Thanks to Preeti Shenoy.. she made me to introduce such a wonderful person to many round the globe :-)

Life is Simple :-)

Yesterday… started as good day.

My sister always complains that I don’t spend time with her and I don’t take her out when she visits me. I have tried several times to change her idea towards me but till date it is a complete fiasco.
This “Operation – CSM” (Change Sindhu’s Mind about me) will not stop unless I win-over her heart in this matter. As a part of my action plan for “Operation CSM” I thought of taking her to a movie. She herself begged to take her is a different note.  She asked at Saturday night 8.45 where the movie starts by 9. I was helpless at that time but promised her to take her on next day. (I.e. Yesterday – being Sunday) She was upset with me but did not give up her composure and stayed calm.

Yesterday morning 8.30 we got up and told my Mamma that we’ll go to movie by 11.30. Most-adorable-mom like she agreed. 4 of us planned to go. My sister, 2 of my brothers and myself. My aunt a lovely lady on earth took my brother out to market. Have you ever been to market with your mother? If you had been I needn’t take the trouble of causing you pain by explaining the purchase process.

If you are not aware or if you have too lucky that you have not got caught in market with your mother, then the pleasure is mine to narrate that mind blowing experience for another post :-D

The show timing was 11.30 and it was 11.10 when my brother came back from market.  I dropped the 11.30 plan knowing that he cannot take bath and have breakfast within that time. My mother started entrusting household chores to me and my sister knowing that we dropped the plan. She doesn’t like us sitting idle. My sister who was already upset was so much irked when my mother started listing the chain of works. She burst out loud. She poured all her agony and after trying so hard I was able to take her out. Convincing both my mom and my sister at the same time when both are at their worst mood is difficult. It is horrifying actually.

We 4 planned to a mall which was not much happy for my sister because she has already visited it. Then I decided to take her to the movie she asked for. At that moment I did not tell my mom , just we left the home saying we are going to a shopping mall.  It was 1.30 when we started.

A point worth noting is, My elder sister had invited us to her home(inlaws place) for lunch.  She was not feeling well yet she took trouble in preparing our favourite dishes and was eagerly awaiting us. Meanwhile we were in the movie but called her and soothingly said “we are not going to have anything out. We’ll starve and would rush to your home by 5.30 just keep the lunch which you have lovingly prepared “ She was happy in the manner the matter was put before her. She agreed.

While watching the movie, I informed my mother too that we’ve come for a movie and immediately said that I have called up “P” and have told her to keep the lunch till 6. I din’t give my mom a break to speak and once knowing that I spoke with “P” she was fine.

We happily enjoyed the movie. We were so dedicated that we watched all the names running after the movie and till the screen closed. Hey! We’ve given Rs.200 each for a 3 hour movie, what if we don’t watch it till the end?
In Parking, we started getting calls from my mother. I din’t pick the call knowing I’ll be scolded for being late. We reached home by 6.15. The scene running at that moment gave me a shock. My mother was climbing down the stairs with tears filling her eyes. My aunty and elder sister was helping her by carrying her travel bags.

Did I miss something?? Yes. I forgot to tell you people that we had train to trichy at 6.50.
All 4 were blank and maintained a sorry-figuring face on seeing her coming towards us. Even then she was not impressed with our sorry-faces.” She was seething   at our irresponsible behaviour. When I opened my mouth to say “Still we have time, nothing has happened . We’ll reach station in time. Don’t –worry-Ma “thing I saw my father rushing from an auto. I was struck with words on seeing him.He came from his friend's place (the best side is he came after me:-) ) He too was scared of facing my mom and went to bring down his baggage. Then I could understand the whole scene. Felt better to keep mouth shut.
They reached railway station. Got the train and safely travelled.

After they left, I asked my aunt who was fuming :   what was the reason for tears in my mother’s eyes for such a simple matter ?
She exclaimed with serious tone: because you people were late.
Me: Just for being late why should she be so tensed?
My aunt : Because she cannot reach railway station early.
Me: Reach railway station early and do what ?
My aunt :Not to miss the train
Me: Would not miss the train and do what?
My aunt: To reach trichy early morning.
Me: Reach early morning and do what?
My aunt : Your sister and brother can go  to college without missing classes
Me: Without missing going to college and do what ?
My aunty : ????????????? (Few questions cannot be answered. Perhaps it is better not to answer :-P)

The worst possibility is loss of train fare Rs.1000 to Rs.1300 by missing the train. They could have boarded the bus in night and would have reached trichy. So all the agony, tension, crying and yelling were just for Rs.1000.

Life is simple. Don’t complicate it. When you are facing a problem just think the maximum loss which you would suffer because of it. The end loss in many cases will be very meagre compared to the trauma we currently undergo to face it.

On the positive note : My “Operation –CSM “ has achieved 5% success. My sister  gave bonus 20% because I faced my mother for her. Totally 25 % :-)

75 % - still to go in few more action plans :-)

I had already told this to you and again telling now that “Punctuality has always been alien to me as Humans are to Martians “

Chamathu Kutty

Me and my brother are always the Chamathu kuttys who accompany our grandmother when the whole family leaves out. Our Grandmother was very sweet and she would be pleased with both of us when we both stayed back at home for her. Our mothers would have prepared the dinner and kept ready for our granny. Our job was just to serve her.

There are few instances where I would have started along with everyone but later, when everyone steps out of house I’ll just give an am- not- coming announcement and will pounce at the sofa and watch TV. My granny would be much pleased with this last minute decision.

That day night after my Papa and Grand Pa returns she would sweetly say “Only P & S loves me so much. Wherever their mothers & other siblings go, they love staying with me and taking care of me. I am really blessed to have such grand children who care me more than anyone in this world.” My father would smile with a pride (because of the way he has brought up his daughter…. Yeah! It is MEEEEE!)

All these were 12 to 15 years back.

Lately, when my grandmother expired  (3 years back), me and my brother recollected the memorable moments with her.
Me: Hey! How can this happen to her?
P: hmmmm… I cannot believe this end to such a sweet person.
Me: Yeah. How she used to love us and care for us na?
P: All those moments are still unforgettable de. She used to give enough of money whenever we stayed at home when she was alone.
Me: She loved us so much that she used to give without our mother’s knowledge. (As they would scold if we have outside food.)
P : Even when we said we were not willing to have in the mess she would insist us to have little before our mothers come na? She was indeed sweet. She never disclosed to anyone that she gave us money.
Me: In childhood we loved being with her because she used to give money and would ask us to have whatever we wished. But later as we grew , we started realizing her affection da. Henceforth we are going to miss her love.
P: True. As we would send your sister and my sister along with our mothers , we were so much close with granny.
Me: I remember those days.. Even when they were ready to stay with grandma we both would somehow convince them and send them out. (As we did not wanted to divide the money which our granny gave with anyone)
P: She was so much pleased with us and used to tell out father’s that we were best. Really her loss is gonna be unbearable.

We both really missed our granny and revealed all the childhood secrets in distress. But then, both our sisters came to know of it and they disclosed it our mothers too. It was anyhow too late that they came to knew. So they did not bother much.

Even this day they both tease me &P for what we did 15 years back.
But till date my father doesn’t know this truth. As far as he is concerned we both are still the same chamathu kuttys who used to care our granny much even when we were kids. He loves us fot that!!

Closing Note :  It is always better to keep few hidden things as hidden forever.
So better don't disclose it to my father.

*Chamathu Kutti - Generally obedient and sweet little kid which I totally am, by the way.

Friendship

My sisters are the sweetest on earth. My younger sister is too caring, too loving, too good and what not? She has every good character. (Much tempered too:-P)…

Friendship means so much to her. Once there was a vegetable carving competition and I always admit she has solely inherited the artistic skills of my mother. My mother and sister purchased all the required vegetables. My mom taught her 2 vegetable carvings and my sister practiced what she learnt.

Next day she merrily went to school with full practice.
She came in the evening with restlessness. She hugged my mom with an innocent face and told

S: Ma… You are the best mom on earth.
Mom (in cloud 9): Oh thank you. You are the most obedient kid on earth.
S: Love you Ma. You know what? The vegetable carving which you taught won the prize. I am really happy at that.
Mom: That really sounds great. But it is not carving which has won the prize. Its my
daughter who carved has won the prize.
S:  (in annoyed tone)... Ma… It is not because of the hand which carved. It is only because of your idea.
Mom: Oh that’s fine. Bring me your prize and certificate. Let’s celebrate your success.
S: Ma…. It is with Pragathi.
Mom: Is it with her? But why did you give it to her? I’d have felt happy on seeing it. Bring it tomorrow atleast.
S: Ma I can bring it tomorrow but I have to return it the next day.
Mom: Why are you confusing me so much? Why should you return your certificate to her?
S: Because … Because… (gnidniwer………. Couldn’t get it? Sorry – Rewinding)

Next day she merrily went to school with full practice.
Her friend on the entrance welcomed her with dull tone. On inquiry my sister came to know that she sounded dull because she did not get practice nor did bring vegetables.
My sister-wonderful creature on earth- has given her vegetables which she had and taught her one carving (she had learnt 2) which is the better among the 2.

Sometimes this happens... The person who copied from you in the exams scores well than you. That “sometime” was this time. Yes. My sister’s friend bagged the prize and obviously my sister was not even given the consolation prize.

Mom: (after hearing the story) How fool you have been S? Your hard work is wasted now. Of course the money spent on vegetables too.
S: It is not wasted Ma… My hard work has got a prize for my friend.
Mom: But you did not get the prize S.. Why don’t you understand?
S: But I got my friendship strong Ma. My friend loves me much much more than she loved me before.

My mom could not utter a word after that.
True that my sister lost her competition but won a friendship.
That day I was not matured and thought my sister was stupid .
But today I am proud of what she did that day. There are things which even younger ones can teach us.

Punctuality & ME

My uncle’s marriage was fixed (My dad’s brother) and marriage was in outstation. We had to report to railway station at 7.30 p.m. Needn’t say how the luggage would be for a marriage trip. Around 20 people were about to travel from Trichy to Mysore. Imagine the loads of luggage now. Despite started  packing 2 days earlier our family is much passionate with this last minute packing.

My mom, my aunties and few uncles, me and my cousins all were very busy in eleventh hour packing. It was like playing treasure hunt. Yes. All were searching things and few succeeded but few were still hunting for their treasures. We were so much engrossed in the game that we did not notice the time. It was 7.10 when we heard a voice saying “it is already late. We’ve to reach railway station in 15 minutes otherwise we’ll miss the train”.
When we heard the voice it was like the umpire blowing a whistle and saying “STOP” and the game came to an end. One among the kids went to hire autos for all. We reached station at 7.30 and luckily the train was in first platform. We ran to the train (obviously this was like a 200m running game). Elders had to carry the baggage along with the responsibility of handling the kids. It was definitely a chaos.

We kids were made to board the train first. Except one of my aunty every others boarded the train. She was there to throw the baggage into the train and people inside helped to carry them to the respective place where we were seated. Train started while she was throwing the luggages. This bold lady threw baggage into the running train. Train started running a little faster and she jumped inside the train while my father helped her to get inside the train by pulling her towards him.

The TT came and shouted at our entire kurkure family. He couldn’t bear our irresponsibility. He couldn’t digest that a lady getting into a running train when so many gents had accompanied her. Somehow after many -Sorry TTR Sorry TTR… he had no other go except to drop the matter. He went to the next coach.

After all the hush push… we comfortably seated and safely traveled.
Everyone who knew me well .. In fact many acquaintances also had asked me the reason for being late ALWAYS. (Yes. I’d be the last person to come. It may be school, parties, get to gethers, office etc etc etc  )

At those moments  to answer that question….  it takes me immense effort to control the heart which badly wants to say the truth that “It is something hereditary” and I just smile and admit “Sorry. It is my nature”.

Heights of imagination

I love my younger brother so much. He loves me the same way. In fact my relatives know how we love each others and they say that I am his second mother.

Usually I won’t interfere in his studies. I won’t teach him (perhaps that’s the reason he loves me so much:-P). The reason for not teaching him is not that I don’t care him or don’t want to trouble him. The reason is I don’t wish to land myself in troubles. I mean it!
Twice I’ve tried teaching him. When we both get inside the study room it seems like we represent 2 different cat families. Yes. Myself as a tigress and my brother as a tiny little pussy.Maximum half an hour we’ll come back to the living room.

Yeah… Now too we represent 2 cat families…But now my brother as a tiger and me as a poor crying cat. If he is interested, he studies well but otherwise its really hard to make him study. I’ll start in slow pace. I’ll encourage him so much I’ll appreciate him so much and then would ask him to study. He’ll be happy at my enthusiasm, encouragement and obviously appreciation but not with those words “Let’s start studying now”. By now ten minutes would have elapsed. In another twenty minutes (that’s the maximum time) I’ll start shouting, yelling and sometimes beating. As you know after doing all these there’ll be crying sound.

My mother rushes to the room to rescue my brother. But you know what?
It would be me crying in the room. (as you all know that is every girl’s last resort). Then I’ll come out. He’ll follow me like a tiger which has caught its prey. Hope the above reason was convincing for me not teaching my brother.

No one can escape from Fate. One day I too got stuck up with that. I had to teach my brother because he had science exam the next day. I tried putting questions to him from his syllabus. Surprisingly that day I did not cry because he was prepared and he answered all the questions. Then I asked him to practice with diagrams as he could score more from them. (My brother is over confident all the times. He’ll always say he’ll get cent % in math. The real marks would be  something else.)

That day was not an exception. He said he has practiced all the diagrams well and he was sure (as always) that he’ll score full of full in them. I wanted to test him so I asked him to draw a kidney diagram. He said he was very good in drawing brain. I did not want to discourage him (because that was the first day where he did not let me cry) and so I asked him to draw and show me that.

Believe me! Within a minute he gave me the diagram. I was dumbstruck. He gave me the diagram of Brain in NO TIME! I wondered at this and with same vibration (I mean in same dumbstruck manner) asked him how could he draw so easily? (I would have taken 10 minutes. I bet even a person who is very good at drawing skills would take 2 to 3 minutes). But my little brother gave me that even before a minute and it was exactly brain.

When I inquired him as how was this possible he replied:
“ Brain dhane Ka.. jujibee.. oru Cauliflower varanja adhan Brain uh”
(Which means drawing a Brain is a cushy job because it’s nothing but a Cauliflower)

Are you able to imagine cauliflower as Brain? Till that day I too had never imagined. I don think any one of us would have imagined. But he did. The little one who usually love playing pranks did it. I regret for testing him but at the same time I feel glad because if  I've not thought of testing him… Brain would not be as easy as drawing a cauliflower.
I hugged him tight after he gave such an imagination to BRAIN.

AM I SUPPOSED TO TELL THIS LOVE STORY??

Love Marriage is a Sin.
Inter Caste Love Marriage is a Crime.
Inter Religion Love Marriage is an inhuman act.

Feeling like u’v read these lines elsewhere? Perhaps in student life in our tamil text books.(I’v replaced the word “untouchability” with the word love marriage).
The above lines are like vedic chants in our family.  Lately many relatives of mine have changed from this thought but my Father is very strong in this point till today.

Coming to the story, One of my cousin( mine is a huge family and mentioning name of each cousin would confuse the readers) had a love story. He had a special affection towards me (I presumed so. By now after reading my previous posts you would be knowing how extraordinarily I presume things.). I’v not heard him calling anyone as “Kutty” but even today he calls me so.(This is the ground for my presumption).

Its very rare that he comes to our place and occasionally spends time with us.That day he called me for a walk with him. I readily agreed delightfully as I too have an extra love towards him. We were chatting all the stories in the world and suddenly he said he wanted to share a thing with me. I was wonderstruck because I was too young and when he said he wished to share a thing my heart sang with joy. But I did’nt express that joy. Concealing my astonishment I tried asking normally .”Well you can always share with me anna. Tell me Whats the matter.?”

He said that he was in love with a Christian Girl ( First time he is sharing something personally with me. Should that be A LOVE MATTER? THAT TOO A CHRISTIAN?). I did not react and he continued . He said that she was the first who proposed and my cousin too loved her but was hesitant to propose her. Once she proposed he readily said “Yes”.(He is wise that he grabbed the opportunity)

At that age I sincerely believed the first 3 lines of the post and I was bewildered when he said he was in love with a Christian Girl. ( Shri Hari! Save me from this anna was my inner voice then). But I  always had a special affection towards my cousin that could not discourage him when he was sharing his personal life with me for the very first time. He narrated his love story and I heard that without much comments. We were now nearby our home and when few steps were left to reach the Entrance Gate he asked me a question. Why did he ask that question to me?

The question was : “Kutty nee Otai Vai dhaane ?”(Which literally means am a trumpet blowing out his secrets all through the way)

Alas! When he thinks that I’l open up his secrets to everyone why did he shared the whole story with me?
Did he actually wanted to let his parents know this matter through me?(instead of directly facing them.He wanted me to convey uh?)
Did he want me to keep this as a secret or he wanted me to reveal this to everyone?
Did he asked that question to make sure that i'l reveal his story to everyone?
AM I SUPPOSED TO TELL THIS LOVE STORY??

Note: My cousin is now married to the girl whom he loved and they are leading a Happy life. Its worth noting that I did not interfere in this matter and I did not disclose his story to anyone. Enna nambunga Naan Otai Vai Illa! Illa! Illa!

Haven't you been Intelligent like ME?

My mom is very much interested in Gardening and regrettably the distance between me and  gardening is even longer than the distance between the earth and the sun. I know that they are categorized as living organisms (Yes I'v read science). Without trying i am not saying that I don like Gardening. I'v tried. See the following story proves it.

Once i read a book where the author said she speaks with the plants and trees in her garden and they too respond her when she speaks.(i was too young then and that Tamil movie where a Tree is the friend of the Actress was not released) . So that was something new to me and I thought to give a try.

I seldom know as to what my mother plants in her Garden. My interest was in the Mango tree and Aamla tree but they too were too young to give me their fruits hence I should say I had not bothered about that Garden anytime. To my wonder after reading that book I just went and started speaking with the plants in my garden. I myself felt it was a stupid act but , when such a Famous author does that stupidity Why shouldn't I do?. So I did that I kept asking each plant as How was that and was it happy in my Garden.
Sad part is none of the plants responded but tragic part is an insect which was much disturbed by my conversation with plants bit me hardly and flew away.I DROPPED the idea of speaking with plants (I better enjoyed speaking with my own people ). From then I don't go to my Garden. If my mom asks to get something from Garden i'l do some alternative work and would ask her to go to Garden.I never went after that incident.

This much was the aversion for me about Garden. One fine day a friend of my mother came. They both discuss so much about gardening . My mom and that aunty even share the species of plants which they have in garden of each others. That day she came and asked my Mom to give her some paneer leaf. My mom was not feeling well she requested me to get that aunty the leaf she asked for.I couldn't refuse and so I just went and plucked the Leaf of Paneer rose along with the Rose.(I was so much generous. She asked only for leaf .But I myself plucked even a flower for her).

I gave that aunty the Rose with its leaf. That aunty and my mom started laughing at me. They couldn't control their laugh. I did not even have a clue as what was the reason for their laugh. My mom took me to the garden. There is a special category of leaves named Paneer leaves. She plucked one leaf and gave that to me. ( the fragrance was too pleasant).

I have a doubt here. When Mango tree's leaves are called Mango leaves, Lime tree leaves are called Lime leaves ,Hibiscus  plant leaves are called Hibiscus leaves and so on.Y not Paneer Rose plants leaves not Called Paneer leaves ?

There is no doubt that am Intelligent. Some fool has named a sweet smelling leaf as Paneer leaf. Otherwise I was correct. Have you ever been Intelligent like me?

Note: Rose water is termed as Paneer in Tamil.

Is borrowing a Crime?

After creating the blog i'v opened the memory chip inside me and randomly collecting experiences. This is one of my Best unforgettable experience with my mom.

I was playing with my cousins and few other friends in the street. I don't remember which game exactly it was but it was something where we'v to run without getting caught. So a Catcher came to catch me and i ran extremely well (like an athlete , not to mention)  that i did not even turn back to see whether that catcher is still following me till i reached the end of the street. On reaching the end i became breathless and noticed that none followed me. (I wonder at my spirit at that age, I did not bother whether I was followed. My destination was the end of the street and I ran till that without any distraction).
From a distance i noticed that all others were busy in playing while i was coping up to breathe normally. At the end of our street there was a petty shop and that owner is well known to our family as we were living in that area since few years. The Petty shop uncle called me near him knowing that i was tired of running. Me-obedient girl on earth- went near him once he called .He gave me two "murukkus" to eat.

Stop your imaginations  -I am a good girl.

I said : "No Thanks Uncle."
Petty shop Uncle: No ma.U r very tired and its pathetic for me to see you in this situation.Just have these murukkus.
Me: Sorry uncle I dont have money to pay you.
Uncle: No.. U have these now i'l get money from your Father later.
Me: N............ooooooooo uncle( Caught my mind voice?.... Yes I changed my mind this time. But still said no in a hesitant way)
That Uncle too caught my mind voice and he himself placed them in my hands (like compelling.) and asked me to go and play well.

By the time I reached home I ate one murukku and was about to eat the next one. Another important point to be noted is ... by that time all had gone home after playing. I too went inside home happily with murukku and also with a pride that I did not get caught till the end of the game.My mom came and asked"how did you get this murukku? who gave you?"
I smiled and said "That petty shop uncle only gave Ma.He was sad that I was tired. He could not see my plight and so he gave these Ma."
Mom: Where did you have the money for these?
Me: No.. No... I did not have any money.(I said it in a different note which meant Cha Cha..I did not steal any  money) He said he'l get money from Appa later.
Mom: So u have borrowed these murukkus from him .Right?( her voice was Hard and striking my head)
Me: (Completely taken aback at this voice.I thought she would scold if i steal money. But i  borrowed from that uncle and genuinely agreed at that without lying or hiding) Yes Ma...But I refused to get. That uncle only forced and compelled me to have.

Hmmm.. All my cousins gathered in the Hall now where my mom was shouting at me.(We- cousins- are so much united when we watch someone among us being scolded by his/her mother/father). They started cherishing the moment. I was helpless and felt insulted so shouted at my mom in return.(My kind advice to everyone.please keep quiet when your mom is scolding. If u too shout at her in return, I'l tell you what happens). My mom who was about to stop her scoldings ,started beating me once i shouted at her (this is what happens.Better keep quiet and admit mistakes). She started giving me black and blue saying "will you borrow from anyone again? u need borrowing at this little age uh? Go and give this murukku in return to that uncle.Tell him not to give you anything at free of cost and make him understand that your mom or dad won't pay for them later".

OMG! I was crying badly out of pain from what i got from my mother.Added to that now i should go to that uncle and return the murukku(Murukku Poche!!!!) and he'l also come to know that I was beaten by my mom and hereafter he would giggle at me whenever he see me roaming on the road(As if that uncle had no other business except to keep watching me and giggling at me). I wiped my tears and was about to start to that petty shop.

Have you heard of adding fuel to the fire?Yes.My cousins came to do that. You can imagine how i was feeling hard inside my heart and i was walking to petty shop with a heavy heart. My cousins came to console me.How they consoled is the most interesting part.

"Hey Shwetha! Don't cry.Why did you get these free of cost? Its wrong no.U should not do this again. Now don't cry" one of my cousin was consoling in this way. The other one" Hmmm it would have been better if you were caught by me instead of getting caught by your mother".( See his consolation i controlled all my rage and walked without uttering a word). The next cousin." Look Shwetha it would be much disgusting if you return the murukku to that Petty shop uncle. It would be an insult for you to return it back.Definitely he'l ask for reason and can you say that your mother gave you back and blue for getting this murukku and so you are returning it? Look. Its better we'l share and have this murukku. Lets not return it back and we can't see you being insulted in front of a third person. So don't give this back".(We belong to Kurkure family!!! Konala irundhalum ennoda dhakkum!!)

That last consolation was appealing to me and we all shared that left out murukku and thats the end of the story.

Now my question is- "Is Borrowing a Crime?" If so, Our Country- Mother India hasn't been drenched in debts? Why My  Own Mother- Sarala- did not Scold or question anyone regarding this?????????(Erimalai eppadi porukkummmmmm??????)

Anyways i'v not got the answer for the above question till now.But one thing i make sure. Even after all these years ..after becoming a professional I ask my mom before borrowing even Rs.100 from anyone.

Moral of the story : Adi udhavra madhiri annan Thambi Udhava maatanga.
Literal translation: Brothers/Sisters won't help You as A Beating Do!!!

Note: Murukku (Tamil: முறுக்கு) is a South Indian snack of savory crunchy twists made from rice and urad dal flour.

It just happens

This is my first post and my first blog... weird as what to post(i make it a point that my first post should not be 'post'poned) and so i just started visualising a coil rounding rounding n rounding.... hey yeah...I got a stuff to write in my blog ...and i bet everyone's life would have a similar incident like this.

Me , my brother and my sister returned from school and as always we started feeding our tummy :-) We were chatting about the day in school...

My Bro : hey that GP is very bad and she teaches math using guide...she doesn't know to solve the problems on her own

Me:Hey yeah da...many have tried to give her a nose cut with this point  but when this topic comes she becomes deaf na...(then I went to kitchen to get some water)

My younger sis : hey m bored of these dishes y don't we try snacks or chats hereafter?(her line of interest varies)

My Bro: Yeah i wish to have corn puff after coming from school... that'd be a good idea..

My sis: What Congress uh? i don like that taste anna... i'l find some other snack to munch

I heard a lil of what my sister n bro was speaking. (am very good at that skill... hearing a lil from what others speak and would make out what the conversation exactly going on)

me: Coming from kitchen laughing loudly at my sister.... ha ha ha ha... hey sindhu he din say "Congress"... he said "Compass"....(at this point you should appreciate my sincerity to math... i din go out of that subject)

My sis: Had a laugh deep from her heart and said hey we have changed the topic... we are speaking about snacks.. don hear a little n presume things.. anna was telling he loves corgress...

meanwhile my brother was laughing... this laugh was a wild laugh...
me n my sis- weird as what was the reason behind this roaring laugh and came to know that we BOTH were wrong... actually he has told  "corn puff"....
That day we had a big laugh session...

Yes, people say I am a bright girl... u can guess now as how i became so bright(from bulbs like above instances)

Note: Congress-is the regional term used in karnataka for Groundnut with some masala.
