Robin Hood

Hi Friends,

First a BIG sorry for such a long gap. Taking time to load since March 26th. A CA or any one in accounts field would know what March and April would mean. In this one month gap I Thank everyone who missed my blogs . I desperately wanted to post a blog today. So writing this blog at 12.00 a.m  :-)

In Childhood I always considered me as a bold girl. I was really scared inside. But still would brag that others look me as a Valiant Girl.

I was naughty too. I was stealing pens, pencils and rubbers from my sister and brother. That was probably when I was 8 to 10 years. I realized that stealing from my sister and brother was a CRIME. So never did that later. When I entered my teenage idea of stealing changed. Eeeeeeyeah the stealing was started in Big Scale. Hello hello!!!!! Wait…. Big scale doesn’t mean stealing often. Big scale meant stealing from Big supermarkets where things were so much that no one can notice if one pen or pencil missed (:-P).

My elder brothers used to aid –and-abet me in this.In Teenage we considered ourselves as Robin Hood. Yeah! Really ! believe me! We used to steal only from costly super markets where they charged so much above the worth of the Goods. The complacence in that was abysmal. We being  plebian able to compensate the loss which our mothers had suffered by paying much to those super markets.

Ideally , mothers should / would punish their kids. But our mothers did not do that. Hee hee! This is the right place to say WE are Kurkure Family (:-P).  One day when I abased  from a petty shop my mother scolded  me for stealing from them. I appreciate her kindness towards the poor. From then, our stealing OPERATIONS (at that age, each theft was an Operation to us :-D)  were STRICTLY in Hi-fi super markets. Don think that our mothers encouraged. By any chance they would not do that. They’ll simply warn and we’ll like every teenagers would ignore it. But I’ve never missed to understand their reaction. They were basking with our words when we said we have moral policy and principles in thefts.

I digress. I was not involved in OPERATIONS (:-P )often. As there were 2 elder brothers and their friends who would take care of that. They did not use my brain and made a mistake. They visited the same super market often and were noticed by the sales persons there. Hope you would have imagined what happened next ?

I hear your mind voice saying :
“ My brothers were caught Red Handed and were given black and blue in that super market. I am going and rescuing them. Eee---rrrrr--- ok ok cool! Somehow our mothers beg the manager of the super market and asks to excuse them once “…. This is what it says.

But Climax is different. My Brothers are equally brainy like me :-D. They too knew that sales persons have noticed them and waiting for a chance to catch them Red handed. So they changed the Super market .

What if we leave one Super market ? There are so many super markets who cheat the public. Super markets may change. But our role as Robin Hoods never changed.

An unrelated note: That was in my teenage. I resigned my role as Robin Hood in my late teens.

Every Dark has its Day !!

Like every accounting person am also marching in this March. The month is really hectic and am in peak working hours. My work is like 24*7 and its really hard to make a visit to my blog. I wish to say all these with much more stuff but the reality varies.

I was a bit busy but not as much as described above. The real reason for not writing a post is I did not have any stories to tell you people. But today I rummaged through my memory and got a story to share.

In my childhood (and till now) I fight with my brothers & sisters. It would be quarrels in many cases and few were fights. Especially I and my sister (cousin sister) were like India & Pakistan. I could easily count the days where we had no fights. Usually no one interrupts in our fight. Our mothers had faced fiasco when ever they tried to stop our fights.

Usually my brother (cousin bother) would not interfere in our fights. Even if he does he’ll be my side, supporting me. On that particular day me and my sister started our usual fight. (It is pertinent to note that we no need reasons to fight. We were like Tom and Jerry where seeing each others would suffice for a fight). My brother turned in favour of his own sister. As you know I can win any conversational fights, that day I had to win both of them. The fight went really tough. I was somehow trying to mange both of them at a time. My own sister was too young then and I had no one to rescue me. I was in the battle field all alone.

I was helpless. I was cornered when I heard these from my brother “ Hey ! You stupid girl !You have come to our house and fighting with us. Just get lost from our house. Get lost, right now!”
I quickly replied “This is my uncle’s (his father) house. It is not yours. Why should I move out?  No. I won’t go.”
He said: “This is our home. I want you to get out of my sight now.”
I said: “Does this house bear your name anywhere? How can you say this as your home? If you can show me that your name is written in this house. I promise to step out immediately. Until then I won’t go.”
To my dismay, He took me to their bed room. He pointed to the the roof of that bed room and told that his name has been written there. Without giving up, I climbed the bed and from there climbed the roof to see whether his statement was true.

After climbing the roof, It was a  abysmal misery when I saw this:
He pointed to his name and asked me to move out then. With tears filled eyes I came out from that house. I was filled with rage and agony. At that moment I could see a basking smugness in my brother’s eyes.

" Hey Praveen ! indha naazh ! naan en nanbanala emathapatta naazh! nee un thozhiya izhandha naazh ! (Annamalai dialogue) my mind voice told.

It did not take me long time to take revenge on them. As fights was in our daily routine , within a week me and my sister again had a fight. This time it was in our house(I mean my house). Ha Ha! I asked them to get lost as that was my home. My brother cunningly asked me the same question which I had asked him. I was no more a fool. I took him to my bed room and attained complacence when it read as under :

I told you na? Every dark has its day. And I had my Day then!! ( a special note : i did not miss to play the BGM of Annamalai in my mind  at that moment)

Human Tendency

Hi all,

It feels great to be busy. It feels even greater when I manage to write a blog which I always love. After finishing half of my work for today, stealing time from yet to be done work I desperately wanted to write a post today. The Post would be a Chapter from The Chronicle of Shwetha.

I love my ELDER Brother. He is ONE DAY elder to me. We both are rather friends. He can be without me. But I need him always. I was dependent on him throughout my childhood. Once we were made to sit in different sections .He was in ‘A’ section and me in ‘B’. I cried badly to my mother and aunt that they requested the Head mistress of the school to put me in his class. She agreed and I was in his class the very next hour. That much is my affection towards him.

He has sacrificed many things for me. Whenever we have little fights it will be my brother who comes down. He is such a darling to me. He is sweet, always sweet ,I agree. But one incident about him .. I can never forget or forgive.

That day I was staying in his home and Our English teacher had asked to bring a new note for Grammar the next day. As my note was in my home I requested my aunt to give one note for me from ‘P’s notes. In return I promised to give him my note once I get home. My aunt agreed and gave me a new note for grammar. It was wrapped and label read ‘P’s name. I neatly stroked off his name and managed to write my name legibly in the little space that was available.

Next day English teacher came and commanded “Take your Grammar Notes. We’ll start that in this hour “. She started checking everyone whether we’ve brought the note. She was in shouting with fury to those who did not have their note. Next it was P’s turn. He was scared already by seeing the treatment which the disobedient students received.

He stood up when she asked for his note and said “it is with Shwetha.“
I was shocked. I did not expect this from him anytime. I quickly replied “No mam. This is mine “
Now with a firm voice he said “Yeah Mam. It is with her only. She has stolen my note Book”.

Disgusting! He made me thief I thought and I replied,
“No Mam. I did not steal. This is my note”
This time his voice was much forceful. ”Mam. Get her note and check it. She has written her name by striking off my name. Do you need any other detail to prove it as mine?”

Teacher came near and checked. Obviously it would have his name. I was caught in fact trapped.

I tried to explain her as to what has really happened. But she had no time or patience for hearing my trapped story. She sent me out of the class and started the day’s class.

I felt humiliated. I was punished for a mistake which I never did. This lovely brother of mine turned wicked and cunningly trapped me. That day I felt ashamed for having him as my brother. Till date I never forgive him for that day. Impression about me in the class or the teacher could not be deleted and thus I too could not forgive him.

Even now I agree he is sweet. But Beware.

Moral: It is human tendency to remember much about the Bad thing that someone has done forgetting the good things done by the same person.

Chinna incident Pedha lesson

Hi all,

Today another chapter from Chronicles of Shwetha.

My mother and aunt always encourage at everything we learn. I have told you this already. One day, my mom came and asked me whether I was interested to join keyboard class. Me- brilliant kid on earth- thought that it was computer class . I thought my mother forgot the term computer and used something related to it i.e. Keyboard..
I agreed to join the class.

Next day she took me to an apartment’s topmost floor. I was stumped because of the hut there. Computer class in a hut ?  There is no sync between the class and the location alarmed my brain. Then I went inside and the master there was teaching Sa Re Ga Ma.
Oh no! What is the connection between computer and musical notes I wondered.

It was only after few minutes I understood that it was not a Computer class. It was Keyboard class (a musical instrument like piano).  I was a bit obtuse that I realized it late. All the years my teachers taught me that Keyboard is one of the input devices of computer. But that day, Keyboard was taught as an musical instrument. Friends! there is a serious problem in education system.

From the time my mother said it was Keyboard class I thought she was uneducated and hence did not know to use the term Computer. But it was actually me who was uneducated & was unaware that the instrument is known as Keyboard. I felt like I had a clip over my ear at that moment.

I forgot the truth that every child’s first school is - his/her home and first teacher is of course parents. But later as we grow we think that we know much than our parents.

You are aware na? My mind voice says Beware of Red Carpet. .Hence I was not an exception to this.

The above is a little experience in my life. But it has thought me a valuable lesson. Never underestimate your parents.

Dancer in me

Yesterday I watched ABCD movie. I enjoyed the movie and of course the Dance which is the theme of the movie. I am not here to review the movie. As I watched the movie I went back to my childhood. I remembered my dance class. Today you can enjoy a chapter from THE CHRONICLE OF SHWETHA.

My sister is a very good Bharathanatya dancer. It is well known nature of the land that the younger ones usually follow the elder’s path. Talents are inborn. We have to nurture it.My sister has that  in dance and luckily she discovered it at an early age and started attending dance classes. At that age I agree that I was envious at my sister and joined the dance class.

It was a new atmosphere. I was scared. I couldn’t manage the class more than a week. My mother got my uniform stitched for dance class and after that I never went to that class. I lost the interest by then. I realized dance is not my passion and gave up that.

In schools teachers have always struggled much to teach me dance for annual day celebrations. The number of students were really less that they had no other option other than selecting me for Dance. Inside my heart I loved troubling them at least in dance and I used to take revenge:-P

One day we were on the way to a Sabha where my sister had to perform a dance. It was a dance competition. She urged me in auto to participate in the competition. I flatly refused. Our mothers started pestering along with her to participate. As a Parent encouraging their daughter is a thing I appreciate with my mother and her sister (ie.My aunt). But this was too much I should say. Their encouragement was for a task which was beyond my ken. As always they started their lecture in the auto.” Participation alone matters. Winning a prize does not matter. You are not going to loose anything by participating in this…. Blah blah blah…” and at last I had no other choice left but to participate.

Soon my sister suggested a song and dance practice was in auto. Believe me. It was in running auto. She moved her hands showing actions which were perfectly in sync with the lyrics. She animatedly gave face expressions which were easy to capture. We reached the Sabha - practice over. My sister wonderfully performed and after a while came my turn.I remembered her actions and expressions.

The song was aired and after controlling my fear (actually I was shivering inside) I started dancing chirply for the song.  My mom and my sister’s mom were so happy on seeing me performing in stage. After the performance my sister and our mothers appreciated me. They were glad and delighted that they made me stand in the stage.I was still shivering even after the performance and they bought me some Coke to relax.

When we were way back home, my sister told me that she was very much angry with a Guy’s comment in the Sabha. The comment was obviously on my dance. When I was dancing he has passed a comment that  “This is a dance competition. The girl is just telling a rhyme in animated way. She is not actually dancing. She is standing in the same place from the start of the song “

I was taken aback with this comment. I really did not know what to answer. I felt humiliated. After few days we got the CD of the competition and when I watched mine I was stunned. As that guy commented I did not move even a bit in the stage. No doubt that I perfectly did those actions and animations taught by my sister which I learnt in a short time. But where did I go wrong? I questioned myself.

I got the answer in a little recap of my practice session. You remember? The practice was in auto. There I learnt only actions and animations. I did not practice any steps. I did not even practice a leg movement. So I did not move even a bit in the stage. He has rightly commented. It was like a rhyme I was animating there. But after watching my performance in CD. I was relieved. I was delighted because I could very well animate and convey expressions. I can be the best teacher for KG students where I can wonderfully teach them their lessons. Thinking all these I just played … tan tarara datan.. taan tarara datan…(annamalai movie BGM when Rajini wins Sharath Babu ). Yes. I do get inspired by watching Super Star movies :) :) :)

Moral: Practice before performing dance :-P
Don't take little things to head and ponder. There are so much to learn and Live.

Communication Skills

Namaste!
Aap ka Dhin Shubh Ho !

No No… this is not a Hindi Post. I’ve surfed through Google to get these lines.
Regrettably I do not know Hindi and this post is about the war between me and Hindi.
Till today I’ve been defeated but sure one day I’ll succeed in learning it. (I am inspired by Ghazini Mohammed…hey!!! I remember my 4th standard history:-))

Can you believe this? I’ve passed Prathmic Exam. That’s a big tale why I did not study further. To cut short, On the day of exam I wailed to my aunty that I won’t take up exams. I sobbed , I pleaded , I begged but everything went in vain.  She convinced me saying
“ Don’t cry darling! See Hindi is very easy. You have attended classes and prepared for this exam all these days na? Last minute you should not step back. You just write the exam and don’t worry about the result. Neither me nor your mother would scold if you fail. But I know you’ll pass out. Anyhow I guarantee that you won’t be scolded even if you don’t succeed in this exam”

In between sobs I manage to say “Can I take up next attempt Ma?”(somehow i wanted to escape)

My aunty was perplexed when I asked so. Again she repeated all the lines in the same rhythm. This time added one more line.” You see as I said Hindi is easy. In most of the cases the answer to the fill in the blanks, true or false and all will be in other questions. Did you get me? The sentence they use to make questions would often give you the answers for one mark questions. You can easily score.Don’t give up.Go! Take bath1 Get ready!” and no more I could speak. But I stored the little information she gave in my mind.

I applied the strategy of my aunty in exam and the result came.
Thanks to my aunt. I passed the exam in second class to my own astonishment. Then me and my sister started to attend classes to madhyama. God! that was tough. I could not even remember a single essay. (Remember? I struggled for one word answers in previous exam. Now how can I cope with essays?)
The teacher used to ask questions from previous day lesson. When I answer she would grumble and say “Should place your Brain next to Visweshwar Ji’s Brain! You are a unique piece”.

Your Brain should be placed next to Dr.RadhaKrishnan’s Brain. You are a rare species my mind voice would say. Because of her I developed an aversion to Madhyama rather for Hindi. I stopped attending classes and every effort of my mother failed when she wanted to send me to Hindi Class. Gradually she left after becoming tired. Till today I have my Madhyama Books. It has been more than 10 years today.

Lately some Repair work was being done in our house and the workers there were North Indians. My aunty and my father know Hindi and they were the persons appointed for communicating with them. One day it happened that my aunt went out somewhere and my father called from his shop. He said that he has sent some cakes and puffs to the workmen through my mother. He also insisted me to stop them till my mom comes, as it was time for them to leave from work.

I said “Papa, aunty has gone out and I do not know Hindi. How will I ask them to wait?” My father slowly  over phone taught me in Hindi  as how should I ask them to wait.
I repeated and practiced that sentence and went out to pour whatever I learnt to the workman. When I reached the door I don’t remember whether I saw something scary or heard some scary noise but I forgot that sentence. They already started packing things and were about to leave. Almost everyone had left and only one was there. I could not go back and call my father to ask the sentence. I had no time for that. But I have to stop him atleast(the only person left).

He doesn't know Tamizh or English and I don’t know Hindi. But at that moment I had to ask him to wait somehow . I remembered all the lessons of Prathmic. I remembered various poems, lings, vachans everything I learnt long back. With all the knowledge I had in Hindi I called that man and said
“ Mera Matha Puffs Cake Aatha –Wait--5 mins “

Perhaps, he could not laugh out loud so he managed a smile and waited for my mother. I just rushed inside and jumped with joy. At last I succeeded in speaking Hindi.

You know what? Language is just a way to communicate. The purpose of communication is to reach the receiver. My purpose got solved. I have communicated to him and he understood that too. I jumped again thinking my brilliance and smartness. (I did not have collar to rise)

Few minutes later my brother came from college. I asked him whether the workman was waiting. I felt like hitting my brother at his head with what ever tool I get at that moment when he replied
“Yes. He was loitering in front of our house. I asked him to move and he left “

All my ego and pride shattered when I came to know that my brother had not even spoke to him in Hindi. He just waved his hand signaling him to move and that workmen understood and left. Hmmm…. His communication was even much simple.

Dhanyavadh!! :-P

Chandhramukhi dancing in my Balcony

“Iravu Bayam, Iruttu  Bayam,
Iravil Satham vandhal Bayam , Saaral adithalum bayam,
Nizhalai kandaal bayam, Nijathil Peigal undu enra  bayam
Bayam ..Bayam ..Bayam ..“

Yes. I am a scared girl. I fear at dark. I fear at Ghosts and evils. (Am not sure whether they exist though) .To make you understand how much I fear, I’l tell you a case. An actress died by attempting suicide. Reason being Love Failure.I have not seen any of her movies and that day when her death news was telecasted in TV I was getting ready to school and I just heard the news. I mean I did not see her face even then. That day night when I went to bed am able to imagine a lady wearing full white saree taunting me so much (That’s a ghost). I am clearly able to hear her saying “You are the reason for my death. You are the reason for my Love failure. I’ll definitely make you pay for this.”

“Arrey, First of all I’ve not seen you in my life how come I would have seen your lover?” heard the mind voice of mine. But I didn’t dare to ask this question to that ghost. I knew this was my own imagination. I knew I alone could find the solution for this. But I couldn’t help. Every day (day and night) whenever I was alone or sleeping at nights I used to have this lady with white saree taunting me and this continued for a week.
You know what? I told my mother. She tried to console me so much in that week as my mother could not help me out; she took me to an Amman Temple (Goddess temple). They chanted some manthras and tied a black rope on my hand. Uh! That day I slept peacefully after a week.

DON’T LAUGH! The real story has not come yet. Hope by now you know how much I fear at ghosts.

From the day we shifted to our new house my brother and another brother who works in our shop used to say sometimes they hear some anklet’s sound at nights. I was little scared but didn’t take it to my head.

Chandhramukhi movie was released and I was a bit frightened on seeing that movie. (I watch it as a comedy now).  One day night as always I slept with my brother and in a while I was hearing some sound like sal sal sal sal…. I could make it out as a anklet’s sound. God! My senses turned so alert. A shiver went on my spine. I tried not to hear / pay attention to the sound but as much as I tried to avoid that much I was hearing more of it. Above our room is the Balcony. On hearing this sound I thought that Chandhramukhi was dancing in the balcony. (People say a writer needs much imagination. I think  am Capable of being a good writer). I imagined her dancing wildly. I got scared. I thought of closing my ears and turned to my brother. Once I turned I realized those sounds were nothing but my brother’s SNORINGS.

Uh! I woke him up and when he stopped snoring I started sleeping. I hate people snoring(They don’t do that without their knowledge though). I’ve been sleepless many nights because of that irritating noise. In turn, I’ve woke them up and have given many sleepless nights to them too. Its long since I’ve slept with my Parent because they snore.

That was the night when I decided that I should not sleep with my Brother too as he scared me with his snore. This is one of my unforgettable experience with truth.

Note: The first 4 lines in Tamizh just describe my fear. Even without those 4 lines this post can be read and enjoyed.

Haven't you been Intelligent like ME?

My mom is very much interested in Gardening and regrettably the distance between me and  gardening is even longer than the distance between the earth and the sun. I know that they are categorized as living organisms (Yes I'v read science). Without trying i am not saying that I don like Gardening. I'v tried. See the following story proves it.

Once i read a book where the author said she speaks with the plants and trees in her garden and they too respond her when she speaks.(i was too young then and that Tamil movie where a Tree is the friend of the Actress was not released) . So that was something new to me and I thought to give a try.

I seldom know as to what my mother plants in her Garden. My interest was in the Mango tree and Aamla tree but they too were too young to give me their fruits hence I should say I had not bothered about that Garden anytime. To my wonder after reading that book I just went and started speaking with the plants in my garden. I myself felt it was a stupid act but , when such a Famous author does that stupidity Why shouldn't I do?. So I did that I kept asking each plant as How was that and was it happy in my Garden.
Sad part is none of the plants responded but tragic part is an insect which was much disturbed by my conversation with plants bit me hardly and flew away.I DROPPED the idea of speaking with plants (I better enjoyed speaking with my own people ). From then I don't go to my Garden. If my mom asks to get something from Garden i'l do some alternative work and would ask her to go to Garden.I never went after that incident.

This much was the aversion for me about Garden. One fine day a friend of my mother came. They both discuss so much about gardening . My mom and that aunty even share the species of plants which they have in garden of each others. That day she came and asked my Mom to give her some paneer leaf. My mom was not feeling well she requested me to get that aunty the leaf she asked for.I couldn't refuse and so I just went and plucked the Leaf of Paneer rose along with the Rose.(I was so much generous. She asked only for leaf .But I myself plucked even a flower for her).

I gave that aunty the Rose with its leaf. That aunty and my mom started laughing at me. They couldn't control their laugh. I did not even have a clue as what was the reason for their laugh. My mom took me to the garden. There is a special category of leaves named Paneer leaves. She plucked one leaf and gave that to me. ( the fragrance was too pleasant).

I have a doubt here. When Mango tree's leaves are called Mango leaves, Lime tree leaves are called Lime leaves ,Hibiscus  plant leaves are called Hibiscus leaves and so on.Y not Paneer Rose plants leaves not Called Paneer leaves ?

There is no doubt that am Intelligent. Some fool has named a sweet smelling leaf as Paneer leaf. Otherwise I was correct. Have you ever been Intelligent like me?

Note: Rose water is termed as Paneer in Tamil.

Is borrowing a Crime?

After creating the blog i'v opened the memory chip inside me and randomly collecting experiences. This is one of my Best unforgettable experience with my mom.

I was playing with my cousins and few other friends in the street. I don't remember which game exactly it was but it was something where we'v to run without getting caught. So a Catcher came to catch me and i ran extremely well (like an athlete , not to mention)  that i did not even turn back to see whether that catcher is still following me till i reached the end of the street. On reaching the end i became breathless and noticed that none followed me. (I wonder at my spirit at that age, I did not bother whether I was followed. My destination was the end of the street and I ran till that without any distraction).
From a distance i noticed that all others were busy in playing while i was coping up to breathe normally. At the end of our street there was a petty shop and that owner is well known to our family as we were living in that area since few years. The Petty shop uncle called me near him knowing that i was tired of running. Me-obedient girl on earth- went near him once he called .He gave me two "murukkus" to eat.

Stop your imaginations  -I am a good girl.

I said : "No Thanks Uncle."
Petty shop Uncle: No ma.U r very tired and its pathetic for me to see you in this situation.Just have these murukkus.
Me: Sorry uncle I dont have money to pay you.
Uncle: No.. U have these now i'l get money from your Father later.
Me: N............ooooooooo uncle( Caught my mind voice?.... Yes I changed my mind this time. But still said no in a hesitant way)
That Uncle too caught my mind voice and he himself placed them in my hands (like compelling.) and asked me to go and play well.

By the time I reached home I ate one murukku and was about to eat the next one. Another important point to be noted is ... by that time all had gone home after playing. I too went inside home happily with murukku and also with a pride that I did not get caught till the end of the game.My mom came and asked"how did you get this murukku? who gave you?"
I smiled and said "That petty shop uncle only gave Ma.He was sad that I was tired. He could not see my plight and so he gave these Ma."
Mom: Where did you have the money for these?
Me: No.. No... I did not have any money.(I said it in a different note which meant Cha Cha..I did not steal any  money) He said he'l get money from Appa later.
Mom: So u have borrowed these murukkus from him .Right?( her voice was Hard and striking my head)
Me: (Completely taken aback at this voice.I thought she would scold if i steal money. But i  borrowed from that uncle and genuinely agreed at that without lying or hiding) Yes Ma...But I refused to get. That uncle only forced and compelled me to have.

Hmmm.. All my cousins gathered in the Hall now where my mom was shouting at me.(We- cousins- are so much united when we watch someone among us being scolded by his/her mother/father). They started cherishing the moment. I was helpless and felt insulted so shouted at my mom in return.(My kind advice to everyone.please keep quiet when your mom is scolding. If u too shout at her in return, I'l tell you what happens). My mom who was about to stop her scoldings ,started beating me once i shouted at her (this is what happens.Better keep quiet and admit mistakes). She started giving me black and blue saying "will you borrow from anyone again? u need borrowing at this little age uh? Go and give this murukku in return to that uncle.Tell him not to give you anything at free of cost and make him understand that your mom or dad won't pay for them later".

OMG! I was crying badly out of pain from what i got from my mother.Added to that now i should go to that uncle and return the murukku(Murukku Poche!!!!) and he'l also come to know that I was beaten by my mom and hereafter he would giggle at me whenever he see me roaming on the road(As if that uncle had no other business except to keep watching me and giggling at me). I wiped my tears and was about to start to that petty shop.

Have you heard of adding fuel to the fire?Yes.My cousins came to do that. You can imagine how i was feeling hard inside my heart and i was walking to petty shop with a heavy heart. My cousins came to console me.How they consoled is the most interesting part.

"Hey Shwetha! Don't cry.Why did you get these free of cost? Its wrong no.U should not do this again. Now don't cry" one of my cousin was consoling in this way. The other one" Hmmm it would have been better if you were caught by me instead of getting caught by your mother".( See his consolation i controlled all my rage and walked without uttering a word). The next cousin." Look Shwetha it would be much disgusting if you return the murukku to that Petty shop uncle. It would be an insult for you to return it back.Definitely he'l ask for reason and can you say that your mother gave you back and blue for getting this murukku and so you are returning it? Look. Its better we'l share and have this murukku. Lets not return it back and we can't see you being insulted in front of a third person. So don't give this back".(We belong to Kurkure family!!! Konala irundhalum ennoda dhakkum!!)

That last consolation was appealing to me and we all shared that left out murukku and thats the end of the story.

Now my question is- "Is Borrowing a Crime?" If so, Our Country- Mother India hasn't been drenched in debts? Why My  Own Mother- Sarala- did not Scold or question anyone regarding this?????????(Erimalai eppadi porukkummmmmm??????)

Anyways i'v not got the answer for the above question till now.But one thing i make sure. Even after all these years ..after becoming a professional I ask my mom before borrowing even Rs.100 from anyone.

Moral of the story : Adi udhavra madhiri annan Thambi Udhava maatanga.
Literal translation: Brothers/Sisters won't help You as A Beating Do!!!

Note: Murukku (Tamil: முறுக்கு) is a South Indian snack of savory crunchy twists made from rice and urad dal flour.
